Hi,
I have no experience of AV set up or programming, but would like to use Demopad am I being unrealistic?

Not unrealistic at all. Plenty of help on the forum and from DemoPad if you get stuck. READ and RE-Read the quick start guide (added below) and have it handy when setting up your design. Use the free templates to learn how flags work and page loads etc...

Get yourself a Global Cache iTach for control of your hardware and after a few hours (maybe 20) have family and friends come over and be amazed at your automation

I agree, Demopad have given me a great deal of support in the last 3 months.
I'v found It's all trial and error!
I have learned huge amount in a short time. You will need to read through all the forums a lot. You can download Demopad
templates which show a lot of information on how things are done.
