My Demopad controlled Home Cinema
My Demopad controlled Home Cinema
IP Controlled Devices:
• HTPC running XBMC Eden with DF Atmo (DIY ambilight) and AWRX (web interface)
• Onkyo TX-NR609 (with aviano floorstanders, centre and bookshelf rears)
• LightwaveRF Wi-Fi Link
• Global Cache IP2IR
IR Controlled Devices:
• Sky+ HD
• Optoma HD700x
• Sony Bravia TV – living room
• Goodmans TV - master bedroom via Powermid XL IR extenders
• XBOX 360
RF Controlled Devices:
• LightwaveRF Dual Dimmer Switch - used for pendant and ceiling lights
• LightwaveRF 2 x Dual Power Sockets - used for table lamps
• LightwaveRF EcoMeter
• Lightwave RF Inline Relay (2 x load 500W version) -used for projector screen
Below are some screenshots of the app as it stands (it’s constantly being improved though):
Features:
• The sky landscape remote has a label displaying the volume on the amp. This is achieved by querying the amp and returning the feedback to a dynamic label.
• The music page is still under construction as I don’t really like the way it looks, but the bedroom controls are all done via Zone 2 commands on the amp, which is pretty neat as it’s even easier to use than the original physical remote, as the commands are directly for Zone 2 at a single press.
• The power page has the Lightwave eco meter displaying power usage…this was a challenge to say the least and more info can be found about this here- http://demopad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2363.
• The lighting page has gauges for dimmer functionality…unfortunately there is no 2 way feedback for this yet, due to hardware limitations.
• The Onkyo remote page as you can see highlights buttons depending on the state of the amp, i.e. if it’s ON or not and what source is in use. The gauge at present isn’t working but is underway.
• The HTPC page is the best IMO, it allows gesture control via the chalkboard, the movies button loads the web interface allowing films to be viewed by thumbnails and playback initiated. The AT THE CINEMA image/button, is the one button does all feature…it turns on the projector, lowers the screen (and stops it at the correct height), turns off all the lights and now the new app is out it will dim the brightness on the iPad too. Eventually I’m hoping it will close the curtains if open, and once Lightwave release a decent TRV, it will turn the radiator down to prevent overheating the projector (which is annoyingly directly above it). The old TRV’s work, but aren’t great!
Below are some photos of the living room in all its glory-
Apologies for the poor quality pics, they're only off an iPhone. Decent ones will be taken in due course.

Re: My Demopad controlled Home Cinema
Looks great. Do you plan to make your project available on this forum? Be warned: I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions if you ever do...
Re: My Demopad controlled Home Cinema
If people would like a copy of the project files I'm more than happy to email them over. I was thinking about uploading them to the above post, but as they change on a weekly basis, I thought I'd leave it for people to request and I can mail the latest one over when they ask
If anyone wants a copy, just PM me your email address and I'll zip it all up and send over

Your screen builds look great. I am updating my demopad with very similar kit list so would appreciate any files you could share with me. Cheers Darren

That is fantastic, could I get a copy of the project, I'd love to try and integrate my Lightwaverf equipment into my room pages.

Thanks guys
As above if you send me your email i'll mail the files over
One of my graphic design friends is creating me some graphics of an iron man style look and feel. I.e the "Jarvis look" can't wait for him to finish, the progress pics look great so far!

Re: My Demopad controlled Home Cinema
What a great looking setup.
I have an Onkyo too and just ordered Lightwaverf switches yesterday, but only just started with Demopad and unsure where to start. A copy of the project would great to see how it should be done properly.

Here's some slightly better photos of the room and a sneak preview of the Iron Man Jarvis styled graphics under construction...
For those of you waiting for project files to be sent over, I will sort this asap, apologies for the delay.
