I may be missing something ridiculously obvious, but I'm struggling to get the IP control to work:

I have the correct IP address and port (80 I believe).

Control is possible via the USB/Serial adaptor that comes with it and obviously IR, but I'd prefer to use IP.

Is there anything in particular I should look out for?

pretty sure Wyrestorm uses telnet - port 23

but i believe the latest Samsung TV's now support power on/off over IP. I will hopefully be getting one soon so will give it a try.
