Sony BDP-4100 IR Problems

Post by nextgenav » Thu Mar 03, 2016 3:17 pm

I'm working on a project with a Centro and attempting to control a Sony Blu-Ray player.

I have the commands from a Pronto database and also from my Control4 device file. None of the commands work through the Centro, but when the player is connected to my Control4 system it works perfectly.

Example code from Pronto database: (Play)
0000 0067 0001 0015 0000 0000 0019 0018 0019 0018 0019 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0031 01ED 0062 0018 0019 0018 0031 0018 0019 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0019 0018 0019 0018 0019 0018 0031 0018 0019 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0019 0018 0031 0018

Example code from Control4 device file (Play):
0000 0068 0000 0015 0061 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0019 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 01fe

The C4 one is for a BDP-S5100, but both codes work from C4

I have tried both conversion and no conversion and I can see the IR flashing (I'm using a blink) but no response at all. Is there anything different with the Centro IR output?

I have also tried a IR bug proven to work on a Sky box.

Cheers in advance,
Steve

Try changing the repeat amount to x3 on the ir code entered into the designer. Sony seem to need their codes repeated three times.

Thanks for the reply,

I re-imported the IR codes with repeat x 3, but still nothing. All very weird! The codes also seem to lock-up the Centro, after testing the codes no other IR outputs work until I reboot the Centro. I can use every other device all day with no problems, but as soon as I try to test Blu-Ray it locks up.

Are the codes stored on the Centro or on the iPad?

Time for a different BD player I think.

It would be best to have all codes stored on the Centro, makes it easier to set macros if they are stored there.

You may want to fire through a copy of .pad file to DemoPad support if your Centro is locking up.

Can you list a command here, so we can see what the IR codes look like?
