Nat reflection

Post by asimp11 » Mon Nov 23, 2015 9:36 pm

When setting up a device for external IP operation. Internal IP and port is set, public IP and port also set, I am having trouble with a Samsung router which will not pass the packet through the firewall from inside the network. Has anyone got experience of Nat deflection allowing 2 way comms?

If it's an internal network then it's my under NAT is not used. NAT is only used for external connections to local network.

I just use a VPN connection. Setup your device & router with a VPN, that's all you need to control everything. You don't need public IP. Works first time ever time.

Thanks Mike. Unfortunatley the Sumsung Horizon router I have also blocks VPN using UDP. The only solution I have is to bridge to an Asus router flashed with DD-WRT (this has worked for me before).
