Help with Samsung IR TV codes

Post by WiredSound » Wed May 15, 2013 10:05 pm

Hi
Just wondering if anyone has had trouble controlling Samung LED TVs. We are getting constant issues with the reliability with the TVs accepting IR codes from DemoPad. We have tried a range of different codes and have clearly found the ones which work but the TVs stops accepting the "on" command but will still turn off the TV. We have no trouble controlling other TVs only Samsung. Any Ideas?

We've had no other reports, the code below works for any Samsung we have tested. First suggestion is to use port 3 on an iTach set to blaster, to rule out anything to do with IR placement, and try repeating the ON IR command several times.

sendir,1:1,1,38000,1,1,172,172,22,64,22,64,22,64,22,21,22,21,22,21,22,21,22,21,22,64,22,64,22,64,22,21,22,21,22,21,22,21,22,21,22,64,22,21,22,21,22,64,22,64,22,21,22,21,22,64,22,21,22,64,22,64,22,21,22,21,22,64,22,64,22,21,22,1820

Yeah, known issue with those Sammys, we just set repeat command x3 with .5 sec interval and works perfectly every time :D

Thanks
The codes I have were clean working codes and did have them repeating twice. I'll try the third time and see if its a charm. But there is differently an issue.

I have had issues as well with a Sony Blu-Ray. I tried repeat=2, no go, 3 did it for me.

Completely agree that Sony Bluray codes can be a problem, I have been lucky enough to only get away with 2 repeats so far. I haven't had this problem having to repeat codes like this on other control systems so hopeful a fix may come along at some stage.

Some Sony TVs requires the code to be sent 3 times - this is what the actual remote does, no matter how short the button press is. iLearn tends to strip out this extra information when you save the code (when set to the defaults), so you need to put a repeat parameter in to compensate.
