Re: XBMC Command's
if you are using Frodo these wot work as you need to use the JSON commands.
I suggest you download the new dc1 or use the one attached here - note I added a couple of my own at the bottom!

Hi Tytherman
Can you help me,
I have setup device using port 9090, command suffix \x0D\x0A, entered my IP. Setup XMBC Frodo 12.2, entered 9090 as port. Set some of the command you gave me.
And nothing works???
Any ideas?
It's not my Firewall i know that.
Any help much appreciated

Hi Mike,
Settings sound right.
Did you set XBMC to allow control from other programs.
Settings: Network: Remote Control Check both options.

Re: XBMC Command's
Just noticed on your post, you said setup XBMC as port 9090...
Wrong..
That is the Web port and should be 80 or 8080.
You do not need to set XBMC port, it is hard coded as 9090, just set Demopad device.

Re: XBMC Command's
hi,
not sure why you say 9090 is the wrong port I have multiple xbmcs all configured in Demopad and all using 9090 as the port? I just checked by changing it to the HTTP port of my xbmc 1240 and it no longer works.
one thing you may want to try to establish there is nothing untoward with your XBMC is from a browser copy the following
http://youripaddress:httpport/jsonrpc?request={"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Input.Right","id":1}
it should ask for a password, and allow navigation "right", if this doesnt work it sounds like your xbmc machine, I did have this issue on some machines esp Raspberry pis and ATV but a reboot seemed to clear it.

Re: XBMC Command's
ps if you try it from the browser you do of course need to ensure the "allow control via http" under webserver is selected also.
Re: XBMC Command's
Hi, sorry just re-read the earlier post, Trevorst is correct, if you had set the web server port as 9090 in xbmc it won't work, this should be either 80 or any spare port but not 9090. In demopad you are correct and set port 9090 - I was thinking this was what you were referring to.
Hope you have it all working, also note 1.4.6 of the app was released this week, and the new designer should be available shortly which means you can add cover art and fanart into demopad!
