Hi,
I am in the process of creating an Interface for my Home Cinema Room using Ipad3, Demopad and WF2IR hardware.
I currently use a Black and White Pronto RU940 as a universal remote.
I have the following devices :-
Sky+ HD
Sony G90
Audiolab 8000AP
Oppo BDP-93EU
PopcornHour A-110
Radiance XE+ 3D
Toshiba HD-A1
Lighting Control
I have all the IR codes I need in my Pronto ccf file.
I can run ProntoEdit 4 and Demopad Designer side by side, copy the pronto codes from ProntoEdit, paste them into Demopad Designer then use the Hex convert button to get them into sendir format for Demopad.
As you can imagine this would be a rather tedious approach.
I would like to know how to convert the ccf to a dc1 file or db file as per your tutorial video, so that I may speed up the process.
thanks
Alan
How to get a Pronto ccf file into a dc1 or db format ?
Re: How to get a Pronto ccf file into a dc1 or db format ?
You should be able to export your 'My Database' codes from ProntoEdit, which will save the whole database to a .db file extension. Place that file in your \Databases folder, wherever you installed the DemoPad software, then it should show up in the pre-defined command screen, where you can select a device model & import / convert all the codes at once. Please note this routine only works with pronto raw format codes, which begin with 0000 - not encrypted codes stored in the ProntoEdit database / other encrypted databases.

Thanks for the information.
I will detail what I have found below in the hope that it may help other forum users.
My pronto is ancient so does not have the "My Database" facility within pronto edit.
I downloaded an early version of pronto edit pro to convert my ccf file into an xcf that was compatible with "My Database" facility.
I imported my ancient ccf file into pronto edit pro.
I deleted all entries in "My Database".
I right clicked on each of my devices in turn and added them to "My Database".
I backed up my database from the file menu.
Unfortunately this db file crashed Demopad Designer, So ..........
I restored the db file into Pronto Edit Pro version 3 and then backed it up again from the version 3 software.
This db file worked in Demopad Designer !
Regards
Alan

An alternate way of doing it:Helipilot wrote:...I will detail what I have found below in the hope that it may help other forum users...
- FIRST thing to do: ensure your command names are unique across your ENTIRE CCF/PCF, or else you will loose those that have duplicate names when you import them into DemoPad; eliminate any special (graphical) characters: they were nice in Pronto but could get you into trouble when importing into DemoPad
- You need to import your CCF/PCF into Pronto Editor Professional (PEP) version 1, as versions 2 and 3 don't allow import of CCF/PCF; all versions are available on Remote Central: just make sure you pick the PEP ones; I used 1.1.20. Then save as .xcf
- Load PEP version 3.x, Go Tools/Database/My database and empty out the 'My database'
- Return to Project and open your .xcf saved in a previous step
- Go Tools/Database/My database: PEP will scan your .xcf and populate your 'My database' for you
- Still within 'My database', Go File/Backup My Database
- Grab that .db and copy it into DemoPad <install dir>\databases
- Back in DemoPad, once your device is defined, invoke 'Edit Pre-defined Commands', make sure 'Show Code Databases' is checked and import from the left pane
- After all this work, make sure you 'Export to file'
I hope these notes will save you time as I spent a whole day getting there. But, for me, it was either that or copy/paste from Pronto to DemoPad 350 commands.
Thanks to Alan who got me going in the right direction.

Re: How to get a Pronto ccf file into a dc1 or db format ?
Hello there,
I hope i'm not going off subject too much but I too am trying to transfer from a philips pronto pro (TSU9600) in which I have a fully working setup.
My devices are
- Panasonic 65 Plasma
- Pioneer LX86 AV Receiver
- Sky HD
- Panasonic BluRay
- Popcorn A400 Media Player
- Dune HD Max Media Player
- Mede8er MED100X3D Media Player
- Tvix XRoid A1 Media Player
- Apple TV2
I just love the demo pad software and have created a great looking setup my biggest problem is getting it working.
I have it working almost fine with my redeye pro (sooo much better then the redeye's own crappy built in software) but I just too many delays after hitting a button and its almost impossible to get the hold and repeat to work i.e. for the volume button etc.
I have just ordered and received a Global Cache iTach IP2IR and a WF2IR but have only managed to get the pioneer receiver to work, this was because I had the discrete HEX codes in my pronto pro database and successfully managed to transfer it into the demopad software.
I have successfully exported and imported my pronto v3 database into the demopad software but the only commands that I am able to convert to the global cache send IR format is for the pioneer av receiver as none of the others show i believe the is because the are encrypted?
if i import them with no conversion they just do not respond.
I have tried learning using the ilearn software for mac and windows but have not been able to get even a single key to respond.
I am sorry for the long winded post but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can someone help or advise.
kindest regards
darren.

If iLearn shows a positive result, then I would look into the connector address of your sendir commands: it's the x:y following 'sendir'; make sure the 'y' corresponds to the right port on your iTach, especially if, like I do, you use both the blaster and emitter ports.
The other thing is that for some devices, you need to bump the repeat count from 1 to 2 or 3.

Thank you for your reply, I managed to figure it out in the end.
every time i was learning the code it was shortened too much I believe it was down to the lighting or some sort of interference from the other equipment under the stairs where it was stored.
the moment I pulled it out it worked.
It was either that or my firewall as when I did this I connected both the computer and itach device straight into the bt router.
thanks for looking.
