Power on command not working for my Sony XBR TV

Post by anderdea » Mon Oct 10, 2022 6:33 pm

I have a Sony Bravia XBR-75X900F TV.
I downloaded the Sony DC1 file from here when I was setting up my system with DemoPad about two years ago. I have a Global Cache IP2IR blaster setup on IR output #3. This is the Discrete IR code I am using to Power up the TV:

sendir,1:3,1,40000,3,1,96,23,48,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,24,24,24,24,24,1000,96,23,48,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,24,24,24,24,24,1000,96,23,48,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,24,24,48,24,24,24,24,24,24,24,24,4018

The first 3 is to match the GC blaster output. The second 3 is to repeat the code 3 times as my understanding, it is what's needed for Sony TVs. All the other buttons for the TV are working fine including the OFF button. The Power ON button did work initially however it was glitchy at best. I tried to use some other Power ON IR codes I found on the Net but to no avail. I put the original Power ON DC1 code back in DP and no matter what do the TV won't power up at all now. The GC IR Blaster is mounted on the bottom of my Projector and all other legacy IR devices respond to my iPad DP remote just fine. I've run out of ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Don

I went back and looked at a previous post I had here for the same issue. It was suggested I try to turn on the TV using the ON command using the Global Cache iTest. That did worked so there is something going on within the DemoPad button commands I'm guessing. I have a single line item command to turn on the TV power.

Well I figured it out.
In the Sony DC1 file, There is a “Sony TV Discrete Power On” which I was using and a “Sony TV Power”. The discrete must have worked at one time because all my connected devices from my Denon receiver to the Sony TV at one time worked. They all showed Discrete Power on in the device string. I changed it to “TV Power On” and now it works. Go Figure!
