This week saw the release of the iTunes app version 1.4.6, and just now the designer software 2.147. New features are explained here:
http://www.demopad.com/demodesignupdate.php
The only feature that needs a little more explanation is the iTunes module. Note - if you decide to use this in your project, it will trigger an In App Purchase of USD $12.99.
The module allows you to browse and control an iTunes library on a connected computer. You can browse music, movies etc, choose to Play/Pause/Skip & also choose an airplay destination for the content.
To set up the module, draw an iTunes area on your UI, using the new 'Insert Page Object' iTunes button. The area can be any size, and will auto-adjust. When you launch the app, you When you choose '+' within the app, you should see a 'Remote' button appear on your iTunes computer. Click this, and enter the code which is displayed on your iOS device. The library should now be linked & you should be able to browse and control your library. You can use swipe gestures (left/right) in the now playing screen, and you can access the now playing screen by swiping the bottom of the module area.

Hi, looking forwards to trying out the new software
Before I indulge and by the iTunes module, can you tell me if the "connected computer" with iTunes installed has to be powered on all the time for the module to work?
Still hoping you'll introduce a rotary control in the next upgrade....
Cheers, Chris

Yes - the iTunes computer has to be on for the module to work.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, as always
I can't help but feel disappointed about that, I'd hoped it would be able to run on its own so we could have a media player within Demopad
Guess I'll stick to xbmc on the Raspberry Pi...

When editing numbers, hovering over the "Save changes" button, the pop-up help says "applies the new processor ID".
I assume that's an error; if not, can you explain?

Yep - that's an error, there is another Save button for AV Pros which saves a processor ID - well spotted! it doesn't affect what the button does though.

Hi, just wondering - would this work using a NAS with iTunes server such as a Synology Diskstation rather than having a computer on all the time?

The module communicates with iTunes, so iTunes needs to be running somewhere - the module cannot access a NAS drive directly.

Hi
Is there a reason my post re: sonos module was removed?

No - are you sure it was posted correctly? Please repost. If the question was 'is there a sonos module available', the answer is not yet....

hmmm, strange...anyway yes it was basically to say that I like the way the development is going, towards the idea of having pre built modules that are easy to implement (i cant describe the amount of time I tried to get a certain "module" working with a different remote system) but that itunes, while great and useful for a lot of people, is not particularly useful for me, but Sonos would be, so yeah, I guess that's what I was asking. Your "not yet" answer gives me a little hope!

Hi,
Is this itunes module able to view music/video that's purchased on an Apple TV or is it just for itunes libraries on computers?
Also, I take it that Apple TV remote on the right isn't part of the module? I.e. It's using basic IR control? Is it possible for demopad to control an Apple TV via IP please?
Cheers!
