IOS 8 Auto-Connect OpenVPN on Launch

Demopad developers,

I have been using OpenVPN for secure remote Demopad connections to my various home automation systems and it works very nicely. My only complaint has been that when outside my local network, I have to establish the OpenVPN connection (either through IOS settings or the OpenVPN app) and then open Demopad.

With IOS 8, Apple has finally given developers the capability to do this within the app itself. It would really expand the Demopad off-network capabilities if it could automatically establish the OpenVPN connection when not on the local wifi network.
