Re: iPad page scrolling
Pretty busy display: I just hope you're not using a cell. phone to navigate ;) I actually started this way, trying to get all the possible options onto one page. I use a mini iPad and even then found that I had to be very careful how I pressed the buttons. My design has evolved over the years to onl...

Re: Sony Projector IP command issue
Try using some network tool such as Hercules to first test out your commands. Much faster to setup and test and your get the integral response from the device. The response will often give clues as to what's wrong. Also make sure you have the right command suffix. In cases where the device does not ...

Samsung TV 2016+ RS232 commands
Attached are the RS232 commands available for Samsung TV's 2016+. They have been tested on a MU8000 which has the EX-Link RS232 connector on the back panel. Notes: Do NOT append a command suffix If using a Global Caché Flex with RS232, port is TCP 4999 2-way (or not) - the MU8000 acknowledges valid ...

Re: Samsung TV Commands
The UN82MU8000 has a different pedestal:
I'll probably use some clip to snap the emitter to the bottom edge, if I stick to IR. RS232 has its quirks.

Re: Samsung TV Commands
I agree, what I ended up doing was running the emitter along the silver base and then aiming it up to the IR port. You can't see the emitter and it works like a charm. I had it stuck originally, but it kept falling off. I have never used the RS232, thought about it, I just haven't done it. Mainly b...

Re: Samsung TV Commands
Thanks! Good to know. IR is now my 'C' plan as I'm looking into going RS232 for mu MU8000. I just hate the sticky emitters and a blaster in my case won't do the job.

Re: Samsung TV Commands
Given IP is such a nightmare on Samsung 2015+ TV's, I'm setting up plan 'B': IR.member_c837 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2012 7:17 pmCommands for Samsung TV's. They've worked on most of the TV I've used them on.
Has anyone tested this set of IR codes against a 2017 Samsung TV set?
P.S. I haven't received my Samsung yet, but trying to prepare.

Samsung IP control protocol
From what I've read in researching IP codes for a Samsung 2017 TV (UN82MU8000), Samsung's Smart Hub (Tizen-OS) uses Websockets. You can find Python based drivers on GitHub that apparently work in speaking IP with those Samsung TVs. I'm wondering if DemoPad has looked into supporting this protocol? T...

Re: Feedback via IR or RS232
Please forgive as I am very new to this part of the home automation. So I would need to send a "getstate" command, which would then send back what the current state of that particular command is, not so much what the state of the device is in. Correct? Just a note: those Global Caché commands and f...

Re: Feedback via IR or RS232
Hello, Is it possible to get feedback via IR or is this something that is regulated via a RS232 connection? I am looking to add something for the volume/guage so I can see what the actual volume is currently on etc. Is this possible? I am using a VSX-03THX receiver that doesn't have an IP port. :cr...

Re: Sending Commands - Need Help
Not sure what VSX you have, but Pioneer (and now under Onkyo) has for a while supported IP commands, if of course your VSX is Ethernet connected. IP is so much more robust and, at least in the case of Pioneer, offers 2-way feedback which increases control of that device. Getting rid of those sticky ...

Re: Processing of hex values returned in 2-way feedback
"It's alive, it's alive" ;) Thanks for the response. May DemoPad keep growing in 2018 (and not lose site of their users). I'm a bit perplexed though on "not routinely monitored by DemoPad". I can certainly channel a feature request directly to DemoPad support, but would that process not take away fr...

Re: Processing of hex values returned in 2-way feedback
Hello DemoPad,
It would be great if my feature request was addressed.
It would also be great if we (I) knew what was up with DemoPad as a company. Last post from DemoPad November 14th, latest news Feb. 2017, very little chat on the forums. Rumors will start...
